As a leading investment consultant, they help organizations manage investment complexity, establish risk tolerance and improve governance.
The senior investment consultant will be in charge of developing client relationships for the investment LOB in The Netherlands in close cooperation with the local team and with the overall BD effort in Continental Europe. Besides that, he or she will do client work within the Investment team. There will be a clear time split between both activities.
His/her main tasks are:
- Look for business development opportunities throughout The Netherlands and if necessary others parts of Continental Europe with both liability driven investors (Pension Funds and Insurance Companies) and absolute return driven investors (Foundations, private wealth, etc).
- Develop relationships with TMO’s and other targeted clients throughout the country.
- In charge of servicing a portfolio of clients mainly in The Netherlands.
- Support the head of bus dev CE in his role to develop new clients and service existing clients as a senior member of the team.
- Support the implementation team within Investment Consulting in The Netherlands.
- Part of the time will be spent in effort to win new clients and develop the business. Although Pension Funds are naturally an important target, an important part of this effort will be concentrated on the development of investment consulting with insurance companies and other clients as mentioned above.
- Part of the time will be spent in servicing the portfolio of own client.
Primary accountability for creating and executing a business strategy
- Penetrate designated markets
- Introduce new clients to the firm in order to meet annual revenue goals
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell new products and services
- Coordinate with existing sales and Client Relationship Management teams to identify, develop and close strategic sales opportunities
- Build relationships with internal and external sources to maximise the penetration of key target accounts
Functie eisen
- Academic background with at least 7-10 years relevant experience in international investment consultancy and/or asset management. Master degree and diploma in VBA or CFA
- Thorough understanding of the global institutional investment industry, its drivers and future direction
- Insight into practical issues of investment management organisations (investment process, organisational structure and people, marketing, business management and strategy)
- Strong client focus and proven track record of managing client relationships
- Experience in a client-service environment; demonstrated ability to understand the needs of a client and translate into action
- Team player comfortable in a professional services environment with the ability to effectively debate and subsequently influence internally & externally at all levels
- Problem-solver and lateral thinker with a creative and analytical approach
- Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
- Strong communication skills, in English and Dutch
- Proactive personality who is focused on quality
